Dr. Hassan Abbas

Chairman

An expert in integrated water resources management with 35 years of global experience. He holds PhD in Hydrology & Water Resources from Michigan State University, USA; Masters in Hydrogeology from University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and BSc Civil Engineering from MCE(NUST), Pakistan. Abbas encourages green economy through sustainable nature-based solutions and people-centric approaches - leading to peaceful and prosperous societies and a healthy natural environment. His focus remains on: 1) shared waters as an instrument of peace; 2) efficiency and conservation in use of water; 3) integrated management of river-aquifer systems for sustainability; and, 4) eco-centric water economy systems. 

Asghar Hussain

CEO

Asghar Hussain, a Hydroinformatics expert with 34 years of experience, specializes in digital twins for hydrological systems. He has led global teams, developing digital twins for 14 river basins worldwide. His expertise includes spatio-temporal data analysis, real-time decision-making tools, and data management for IWMI across major river basins. Collaborating with The World Bank, USAID, ACIAR, and others, he developed IWMI's IDIS and online tools for landslide susceptibility and flood mapping. His work spans groundwater modeling, drainage solutions, and actionable insights for water and agriculture projects, making him a key figure in global hydrological data management and analysis.

Fakhira Najib

Communication Director

Ms. Fakhira Najib, an educationist and media expert with 30+ years of experience, has pioneered innovative learning programs in Pakistan. She developed Broadclass – Listen to Learn, benefiting 500,000+ learners and earning global recognition, including the 2019 UN STI Forum and GDN’s Most Innovative Development Project award. A certified broadcast management professional, she has shaped B.Ed. and M.Ed. curricula, led emergency education programs, and introduced certified youth training courses. Her digital media internship initiatives with top universities continue to impact education, media, and youth development. Her excellence in ECCE and crisis education was recognized by HundrED’s Innovator of the Month award.
